The control console above is representative of the project.
When Mid-Atlantic Entry Systems first took on a project at a Texas data center, there were no controls to operate the equipment. The Mid-Atlantic Entry Systems team built a simple push button control panel to manually operate the equipment.
Following the initial installation, the customer’s site security group liked what they saw and expanded our scope of work. We were presented a contract to provide controls at two more nearby facilities, along with the additional requirement of completely automating the traffic flow at all three locations. It was this newly expanded sequence of operation for automating the traffic flow, combined with the already large number of inputs and outputs, that mandated the need of a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) to accomplish the task.
Mid-Atlantic Entry Systems searched for a systems integrator to handle the PLC programming and found one locally. We spoke with Kip Williams at Teronus about our objective, and he was confident he could do it. Once the details of the project were finalized, Teronus designed the operator consoles and developed the software needed to meet the site’s unique sequence of operation. Once fabricated and tested, the three systems were shipped to Texas where they were commissioned on-site by the Mid-Atlantic installation team.
Other similar sites on the East Coast have contacted Mid-Atlantic Entry Systems for quotes on panels for their site. They also have gate operators, loops, and other equipment they want us to install as a turn-key project. A Mid-Atlantic Entry Systems representative will be meeting a representative from a Fence Contractor soon to quote a gate as well to include in our work as a comprehensive package.
